Is a fun group that plays traditional Irish music. The performances include Irish music, story telling and the fast feet of Irish dancers!
The band was founded by Joe Perry a local Irish musician who plays the uilleann pipes, a pure Irish instrument. It all started when Joe Perry (who is also the Pipe Major for the Mt Timanogos Pipe Band) was playing his Irish pipes before the Mt Timpanogos Pipe Band practice. Some of the bagpipers started showing up before pipe band practice with fiddles whistles & other instruments and started learning traditional Irish music. The group started playing at shows with the bagpipe band & soon other musicians started playing with them. They have played at wedding receptions, numerous festivals & shows. Every year their St. Patric’s day show at the Orem Library gets bigger and better.
An Rogerie Dubh has a great relationship with the Shelly School of Irish Dance and appreciates the fantastic dancers they send to perform at the shows. Also, An Rogerie Dubh is now hosting sessions where musicians interested in Irish music can get together and play some tunes. If you play Irish music or want to come and listen you are invited to contact us and find out where and when.
